ABOUT ME

Portfolio_Lisa-Harms

Hello iI'm Lisa

Dreamer, hatswoman and visionary

With my art I want to make the ABSENT PRESENT and thereby enable you to connect to your own memories.

It is very important to me, in my abstract landscape paintings, to make the invisible tangible and to satisfy or reawaken the longing for (inner) places.

The motivations for my work are deeply rooted in my family history and the memories of my (Volga) German ancestors.

The trauma of flight and expulsion that this courageous and strong minority went through still has an impact and finds a place of acceptance, forgiveness and new beginnings in painting.

By using organic materials such as earth, water and plants for my paintings, I try to create a physical connection between the viewer and the places of longing.

I paint so as not to forget.

“Close your physical eye so that you may see your image first with the eye of the mind.

Then bring to light what you have seen in the darkness, so that its effect may reverberate, from the outside in."

Caspar David Friedrich
